2010 CSTAR Workshop

On October 28th and 29th over 30 meteorologists from the National Weather Service (NWS) as well as faculty and students from NC State University (NCSU) gathered in Raleigh to begin implementation of a 3 year Collaborative Science, Technology, and Applied Research (CSTAR) project. The latest project is entitled Improving Understanding and Prediction of Hazardous Weather in the Southeastern United States: Landfalling Tropical Cyclones and Convective Storms. The workshop provided an opportunity to share science infusion success stories, get updates on recent and ongoing collaborative research between the NWS and NCSU and finalize implementation details on the latest CSTAR project.Presentations from the workshop along with additional details will be made available shortly and will be accessible from the CIMMSE blog.
