In recent years, Raleigh NWS collaborative research with North Carolina State University has expanded to include other National Weather Service Forecast Offices including those located at Greenville-Spartanburg and Columbia South Carolina, Wilmington and Newport North Carolina, along with Blacksburg and Wakefield Virginia.

The purpose of this blog is to share applied research findings and training materials on forecast topics important to the Southeastern and Mid-Atlantic regions of the country. The blog was designed as a method of conveying up to date research findings not only to members of the CIMMSE Group, but more importantly to the general public.  We encourage you take time to browse through the blog regularly to see the latest updates on the collaboration.  If you are interested in contributing to the collaborative work, please send a request to the administrators of the blog to gain write access to the blog.  In the end, it is our desire to work together toward producing training materials which can provide a means to add value beyond current operational forecast practices.
